John Heiffor: Made for the Army
This John Heiffor razor was made in the 1850’s or ’60’s and is the style Heiffor was most famous for. Though his company made all variety of razors, these ‘Made for the Army’ razors are the most commonly found. John was born in the 1780 and had already begun doing business by the time he was 18 years old. He worked as a cutler and a hairdresser, along with is mother.
The business moved to 3 Paradise Square in the early 1850’s, shortly after John died. His son Thomas carried on the business, and was most likely in charge of the company when this razor was produced. It is a fine, fine shaver.
